The Multiple Menu Model
The Multiple Menu Model, developed by Joseph Renzulli, provides instructors with an array of choices to guide the way in which students (gifted students particularly) acquire knowledge. The six components of the Multiple Menu Model are the Knowledge Menu (tools & applications), the Instructional Objectives and Student Activities Menu, the Instructional Strategies Menu, the Instructional Sequences Menu, the Artistic Modification Menu, and the Instructional Products Menu.
Some benefits of this model include: the fact that it cause be flexible based on student interest, it can be used in multiple subject areas or a single subject area, it can be used with all grade levels and subject areas, and the learning is real word applicable (making it have deeper connections for the students).
This model is helpful in creating inquiry and creative products from all students, although intended originally for high ability students. It creates first hand inquiry and creation experiences for students that they rarely get in general classroom settings.
